Swiss Ball Workouts:  Medicine Ball Toss

Upper Body - Advanced Level - Core Training

 

A fun and challenging exercise to improve balance and motor sensory skills.

   
Contraindications:  None.  
   
Starting Position:  Kneel on a Swiss ball facing the medicine ball rebounder.

Movements: 

 

q       Toss the ball into the rebounder.

q       Catch the ball when it returns.

 

 

 

 

Tips: There are many variations of this exercise.  Try performing it by throwing the ball with alternate hands, line up with the rebounder at a 90 degree angle, try live and dead medicine balls, or change the angle of the rebounder.

 

Exercise Progressions: 

 

Use of duradisks, wobble boards and rocker boards can be used instead of the Swiss ball to reduce the base of support.
